Chester Road Runners’ Training

We meet every Wednesday at 6.30 p.m on the car park of Westminster Park, Hough Green, Chester, CH4 8JW. We currently have five regular groups lead by qualified and experienced Run Leaders. Each weekly session lasts around one hour.

We encourage members to Car Share to Club night so as to reduce traffic congestion.

All our Club runs followed planned routes which are risk assessed. We have a generic risk assessment which applies to all planned runs with any other risks noted with the route

Here is a list of the Target Paces for each group to allow you to decide which Group may be right for you:

Target Pace

Group 1 – 8:30 minutes per mile and below

Group 2 – 8:30 to 9:30 minutes per mile

Group 3 – 9:30 to 10:30 minutes per mile

Group 4 – 10:30 to 11:30 minutes per mile

Group 5 Р11:30 to 12:30 minutes per mile 

Group 6 РSocial 5km 

We also run Couch to 5km courses several times a year. These are 10-week courses for beginners.

In addition to this, we have ad-hoc training sessions of various paces and distances on other evenings or at weekends.

Members can move between groups as they see fit and we always ensure no one is left behind.

Many of our members attend Saturday Parkrun of which our nearest one is at Countess of Chester Country Park.

We very rarely have to cancel our Wednesday training sessions due to bad weather. If this is necessary, we will aim to let you know by Facebook and Twitter.
