What inspired you to start leading runs and what motivates you to keep going?
I wanted to contribute to the club as it has made such a difference to my life. I enjoy helping others achieve their goals.
Can you share your favourite running route and why it’s special to you?
Difficult but overall I like running paths which we can use in the summer, Dukes Drive, The Meadows, The canal and The Greenway. However running over the Old Dee Bridge is always a pleasure.
What tips do you have for beginners who are just starting their running journey?
Don’t worry about speed, Take it steady. Consider entering an event a few months away and set a plan to train for it ideally with a running buddy.
How do you stay motivated on days when you don’t feel like running?
I try a remember that I have never regretted going for a run and always feel better afterwards. Also I arrange to meet someone for a run so you are committed.
What’s one memorable moment from your time leading runs that stands out to you?
I have been able to help a number of runners who were just beginners and they have now completed Marathons. Just to feel as though I have helped them on their running journey is a great memory for me.
